Laois Tourism

The Challenge

We worked with Laois Tourism as part of the Fáilte Ireland Digital That Delivers (DTD) programme to redesign and modernise their destination website. The project focused on improving usability, accessibility, and content structure while creating a platform that better promotes County Laois as a visitor destination.

The existing Laois Tourism website was outdated in both design and structure, making it difficult for visitors to find key information such as things to do, places to stay, events, and visitor guidance. Content was poorly organised, navigation was unclear, and the overall presentation did not reflect the quality or diversity of tourism experiences available across the county.

The Solution

We carried out a full website redesign, creating a modern, responsive layout with a clear and intuitive navigation structure. Content was reorganised to make it easy for visitors to explore attractions, accommodation, food and drink, events, and local experiences.

Accessibility was built into the project from the outset. We improved colour contrast, typography, heading structure, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader compatibility to ensure the site aligns with WCAG guidelines and EU accessibility requirements, as required under the Digital That Delivers programme.

The new site was built on a flexible and easy-to-manage platform, allowing Laois Tourism to update content regularly, promote seasonal campaigns, and support ongoing tourism initiatives.
