The Challenge
Killarney.ie, the official website for one of Ireland’s most popular tourist destinations, needed a comprehensive update to enhance its accessibility and user experience. The existing website was outdated, difficult to navigate, and did not fully comply with accessibility standards, making it challenging for users with disabilities to access information.
The objective was to create an inclusive, user-friendly website that would showcase Killarney’s attractions, events, and services while ensuring that all visitors, regardless of ability, could easily navigate and use the site.

We redesigned Killarney.ie with a strong emphasis on accessibility and modern design. The new site features a clean, intuitive layout with high-quality images and detailed content highlighting the region’s attractions, events, and accommodations. Key enhancements include compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards, such as text-to-speech functionality, keyboard navigation, and alternative text for images.
The website also boasts a responsive design for seamless use on all devices and an improved navigation structure to make it easier for users to find relevant information. Additionally, we implemented SEO best practices to boost search engine visibility and attract more visitors.
